The newly-launched Toronto-based prodco, which opened its doors in March 2015, optioned Dumb Luck in May and attached its first cast members in early summer. Adam Copeland (former WWE; Haven, Highlander: Endgame) and Mackenzie Munro (The Borgias, I Declare War) are confirmed, with Dylan Everett (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Jesse Bostick (Copper, The Listener) under consideration.
Pasha Patriki described the coming-of-age subject matter as fitting 9 Light’s strategy of producing internationally-facing indie films with strong festival potential. A proof-of-concept teaser was planned for August 2015.
