Deadline’s Melanie Goodfellow broke the exclusive on 9 Light Entertainment’s launch of a sales and distribution arm — a natural extension of the company’s producing footprint, kicking off with Charles Wahl’s comedic thriller Sound & Fury.

The new sales & distribution division builds on 9 Light Entertainment’s expertise in developing strategic international partnerships and content for global audiences. It will represent a curated slate of commercially driven projects designed for worldwide release, alongside the company’s own scripted and unscripted originals.
First up under the new arm: Sound & Fury, the feature directorial debut of SXSW short-film regular Charles Wahl (The Mohel, Little Grey Bubbles), heading into production this fall. Freshly announced cast includes Canadian Screen Award winner Daniel Maslany (Murdoch Mysteries, Impulse), Shaun Majumder (From, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), and Kaelen Ohm (From, Hit & Run). Lead producer is Gharrett Patrick Paon (Wildhood).
